What is it?
The Urban MAX is part adventure race and part scavenger hunt with a mix of ‘The Amazing Race’. One of the most popular and unique events on the calendar!
It is a format of racing that will take teams of 2 through the heart of the city. Competitors will get to visit some of the cities most famous landmarks, while completing a variety of fun checkpoint activities along the way. A number of the checkpoint activities may indeed need more brainpower than muscle so speed alone will not get you over the line first.
Sounds easy enough right? Well as an added twist the checkpoint locations are only revealed to teams via cryptic clues that they have to solve when the gun goes off! Last year checkpoints included a karaoke bus, SUP, mini golf, kayaking and egg catapult creation; that was just the beginning! What will 2018 have in store?
This event is for all skill and fitness levels, catering for elite competitors who wish to compete for top honours, as well as beginners and families who just want a day of adventure and fun in the CBD.
Looking for a team event for your staff? We have you covered! Urban MAX isn’t just for families or friends…it’s perfect for your work colleagues, gym buddies, boot camp group or running club. Get your teams together and enter multiple teams so you can race together or even compete against each other. Build team morale and have fun all while getting some exercise and exploring the city!
Got kids who want to join in the fun? Kids Passes for $20ea can be added to a complete (two fully paid entries) team. Limited to kids aged 8-13 years, you may purchase up two additional kids passes per team, which includes a race number to make them feel part of the action. Kids are allowed to assist you in solving clues, locating checkpoints and completing activities.
Our goal is to promote a healthy active lifestyle through participation in the Urban MAX extravaganza. ‘Social’ team or ‘Racing’ team categories available upon entry.
